Hello! My name is Francesca Maisano. Welcome to my website! Having grown up in Northern Virginia, and fallen in love with the history and cultural heritage of the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, I am now a graduate student in the Master of Historic Preservation program at the University of Maryland, planning to graduate in May 2023. Before this, I was in the undergraduate Historic Preservation program at the University of Mary Washington, graduating in May 2021. Through the coursework I have undertaken, not only have I gained an appreciation for the varied realms of historic preservation, from architectural history and conservation to urban planning, but I have gained experience and skill in a variety of preservation activities, such as building documentation, including field drawings, measured drawings, and photography, and crafting nomination forms for the National Register of Historic Places and the Maryland Inventory of Historic Properties. In addition, the various student jobs and internships I have had have allowed me to gain additional skills, such as scanning archival materials, cataloguing museum objects in PastPerfect, and working on documents while ensuring disability accessibility.
